Description
A 6-day tour covering Mathura, Vrindavan, Ayodhya, and Varanasi from Surat is an ambitious but rewarding itinerary, allowing you to immerse yourself in the spiritual heartland of India. Given the distances, this package will involve a mix of overnight train travel and private car transfers to maximize sightseeing time within the 6 days.
Best Time to Visit:
The ideal time for this tour is from October to March. During these months, the weather is pleasant, making sightseeing comfortable. Summers (April to June) are extremely hot, and monsoons (July to September) bring heavy rainfall, which can disrupt travel plans.
Key Travel Considerations:
• Surat to Mathura: Overnight train is the most efficient. Travel time is approximately 11-16 hours.
• Mathura/Vrindavan to Ayodhya: This is the longest leg by road (around 500-550 km, 8-10 hours). An overnight train directly from Mathura/Agra to Ayodhya (Faizabad/Ayodhya Cantt) or a combination of train to Lucknow/Faizabad and then a drive to Ayodhya is possible. Direct buses are also an option but might be less comfortable for long distances.
• Ayodhya to Varanasi: This leg is shorter (approx. 180-200 km, 4-5 hours by road or 3.5-5 hours by train). Train or private car are both viable.
• Varanasi to Surat: Overnight train is recommended. Travel time is significant, around 22-27 hours.
